Having had my cottage re-wired, I needed to find a reliable decorator who was happy to work in rooms where a lot of old and antique furniture couldn’t be removed. Jay explained the process of protection of the furniture and planning to reassure me that I would have nothing to worry about. A no point was I concerned that he wouldn’t take care of my house and belongings, he even fixed a broken mug I hadn’t gotten around to!

His attention to detail, total professionalism, friendly manner and even turning up when he didn’t feel well. As well as working late and a weekend, to ensure I got my house back as soon as possible, proves his worth on so many levels. I will definitely be having him back to redecorate the remaining room that couldn’t be done this time around. Total pleasure to work with! Thank you, Jay!

I would like to take this opportunity to advise how pleased I am with the work that you carried out.  The preparation was very thorough and you certainly found areas of rot which were not obvious.  You then made sure that all rotten patches were completely removed before filling and making good.

The actual painting was of the highest order.  All windows ended up with crisp, clear lines with no signs of smudging. My wife and I also appreciated the sympathetic way in which you carried out the work to fit in with our arrangements without being unduly intrusive.

Having struggled to find a local decorator to tackle our greying 1930s house that was supposed to be white, Jay was recommended to us by a friend who had worked with him before and we're so glad we took up the recommendation. It was a big job which required repairs as well as decorating but Jay transformed our house back to its former glory, completing the job to a high standard and on budget. I initially contracted Jay to repaint, walls and woodwork for a large dining hall. I was immediately impressed by the advice he gave regarding paint brand and colour to suit the aspect and dimensions for the room. I was further impressed by the detailed costing and estimated duration of the work. His preparation was extensive and the finished effect faultless. On this basis I further contracted him to wallpaper a 5 meter by 5 meter wall which had a large and particularly difficult T section window.

 

He cross lined and hung the finish paper perfectly notwithstanding that the window was out of square. Again his preparation was exemplary, including masking the scaffold, so as to prevent any discoloration to the paper, and preparatory measurement  and cutting for the reveals.

 

The paper was supplied by a London designer, who was unable to recommend  a suitable decorator, so I feel extremely fortunate to have found Jay. I had no hesitation in recommending him to the wallpaper company and would whole heartedly recommend him generally.

Having had my bathroom and en-suite completely refitted I asked the bathroom fitter, who I have recommened for Which? Trade, to recommend a decorator. He highly recommended Jay and I was not disappointed in this recommendation. Jay spent the majority of the time on the surface preparation. He protected all working areas with dust sheet, he cut and made good all holes, crack and other imperfections with filler and caulked up gaps between wall and pre-finished skirting and architraves. He rubbed down to a smooth finish and left a clean surface for painting. He then painted his work and takes great pride in what he does. He has a friendly personality and it was a pleasure to have him work in our bungalow. His quotation for the work was very reasonable. He has a City & Guild Advanced qualification and this showed in the excellent work he produced. I will certainly use him again to decorate the bedrooms later this year. A very skilled tradesman who I highly recommend.

I came across Jay doing some work for one of my neighbours and thought about my bedroom that needed doing. After a friendly introduction I nervously asked him if he'd redecorate it for me. A week later the transformation was complete. You hear about cowboys all the time but I'm pleased to report I was extremely impressed with Jays skills in the art of decorating. Perfection isn't a word I use often but I was so impressed I immediately asked him to repaint the whole of the back of my house  (Outside) and my garage door. It's so good to be able to trust your pride and joy to a true professional, and he's young enough to still have years of outstanding decorating left in him.
